Melbourne Sports Tour Details

If you’re a fan of all things cricket, rugby, football, tennis, and more, this is the Melbourne sports tour for you!

You’ll meet your guide near the large NGV sign on the corner of Flinders St and Russell St, ready to immerse yourself in Melbourne’s sporting precinct. Enjoy a leisurely walk along the Yarra River, taking in the various sights and spots along the way, all while your guide regales you with fascinating facts and tales about Melbourne’s sporting history.

These are some of the locations we’ll see along our Melbourne sports tour:

  • The National Tennis Centre: Learn more about the elite players and coaches that visit here and why.
  • Melbourne Storm Headquarters: The Pride of Rugby League in Victoria.
  • Melbourne Victory Headquarters: One of the three A-League teams based in Victoria.
  • Melbourne Rebels Headquarters: The Pride of Rugby Union in Victoria.
  • Melbourne Rectangular Stadium/AAMI Park: Home to 4 of our major sporting teams.
  • Olympic Park: The track and field training centre for the 1956 Melbourne Olympics.
  • AFL Headquarters: Offices for AFL teams Richmond Tigers, Collingwood Magpies, and Melbourne Demons.
  • Melbourne Park: Home to John Cain Arena, Rod Laver Arena, Margaret Court Arena, and the Australian Open Tennis Championships.

On arrival at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, we’ll take a quick break for refreshment, before joining your Melbourne Cricket Club volunteer guide for a fabulous Tour of the Melbourne Cricket Ground!

Afterwards, you will continue on foot to discover more sights along the Yarra River on our way back to the starting point at Federation Square.

If you want to skip the walking, check out our Melbourne Sports Lovers Bus Tour. Should you have any questions about our tour, feel free to contact us.
